At first, Jake wasn't sure what to think of swimming lessons. By the end of the last class, which was today, he was "blowing bubbles" (which to him means opening his mouth wide - and then putting his head underwater with his mouth still wide open), jumping off the side and going underwater, and kicking up a storm. The lessons were a great way for mommy to end the work day and for Jake to get more comfortable at the pool!

Sarah's 30th Birthday in Gulf Shores
We had a blast in Gulf Shores, but it was bittersweet. We had two fabulous days on the beach before oil came ashore. It was heartbreaking to see those that depend on the gulf and beaches for their livelihood. Jake loved every minute of the trip, serving as the greeter everywhere we went. Whether the pool, on the beach or in restaurants he made it a point to wave to nearly everyone who strolled by. Between waving and pointing out all the seagulls (which he called "ducks" but since his vocabulary is limited we went with it), it's amazing his arms didn't fall off.

Happy Easter!
Jake helped his cousins dye Easter Eggs and decorate sugar cookies on Palm Sunday. He showed everyone that he can now take a few steps on his own, and talked to them a little bit too!
We went to Columbia, Boonville and Billingsville Easter weekend. We had a great time blowing bubbles and playing outside on Saturday. It was such a nice spring day! Jake looked very dapper in his suit and tie Sunday morning. We all enjoyed a wonderful breakfast after sunrise service in Billingsville!

February Madness
We geared up for March Madness a little earlier this year, catching our niece's and nephews' basketball games in February. We started out with Katie's games just down the street in Lenexa. The month ended in St. Louis, where we caught Matt's and Michael's games! Jake likes watching his cousins play "ba", but thinks playing "ba" is even more fun!
